Biathlon Cadets Take Top Spots

Congratulations are in order for our Biathlon Team- taking top spot by bringing home the most medals out of all the Squadrons who competed in the Zone Competition held on January 16th in Whistler.

Gold Medals:

Cpl. Ethan Algra (junior boys)
AC Ariel Bussani (junior girls)
Sgt. Thomas Schratz (senior Boys) and
Cpl. Jinny Lee (senior girls)

Silver Medals:

FCpl Emmanuel Bussani (junior boys)
FCpl Sharon Park (senior girls) and
FSgt William Schratz (youth men)

In an unprecedented turn of events, 861 will be having a total of 9 Cadets moving on to the Provincial competition being held on Feb. 6 and 7 at Mount Washington on Vancouver Island (teammates Cpl. Caelen Pennington and AC William Tang will join the gold and silver medal winning biathletes).

Well done Cadets and a HUGE thank you to all our parents, coaches and helpers for your time and support!

We look forward to seeing all your hard work pay off at Provincials!

Positive Youth Development and Program Outreach (PYDPO)

The Positive Youth Development and Program Outreach (PYDPO) is now available for all League members and volunteers to complete.

This is a new self-paced learning course, delivered by the Directorate of Cadets and Junior Canadian Rangers, and is intended for ALL ADULTS working within the Cadet and Junior Canadian Rangers Programs.

It’s intent is to strengthen support for youth and for the adult leaders to acquire an increased awareness of positive youth development, adolescent development and further tools on how to attract more youth and additional support for their Squadron.
